I Am Iron Man

In 2008 I had just recently moved to Madison, WI.  Each year during the summer Madison hosts the Iron Man Triathlon event.  The finish line for this event runs down State Street.  Venturing out to meet up with some friends, I raced up to the Capital square, unaware of the events going on.  As I begin to cruise down the sidewalks of State Street I notice people walking in the street, quite winded.  Up ahead the sidewalk was blocked, so I joined the people in the street, cruising by at my full 8 1/2 MPH.  As I pass by numerous people in the street, on my way to meet with some friends on the UW campus, I notice some goal posts with a checkered flag labelled “Iron Man 2008”.   I zip past the finish posts and cruise on to the UW Humanities building to meet with my friends.  As I arrive at the agreed upon location and greet my friends I note, “I think I just won the Iron Man”.
