Getting To Bed At A Reasonable Hour

Most worry about getting to bed too late, or waking up exhausted the next morning.  However, when you rely on home healthcare to help you in and out of bed you may find yourself at the whim of tight schedules and a generally short-handed staff.

In my case, not only can these tight schedules ruin the plans for the evening (with the care company sometimes trying to put me to  bed at 7 PM), but in my case, due to pain management and respiratory issues, staying in bed too long can be downright dangerous.

As a busy professional, who also wants a personal life, I’ve had to find ways to cope with these scheduling shortfalls.  Programs, like the CIP program, allow for me to privately hire and pay workers.  The CIP program has helped immensely by allowing me to hire staff or friends to help me to bed at a later time.  Additionally, recruiting independent caregivers via online sites or ads can be a great way to leverage programs like the CIP program.

Another option I’ve worked out is through the aid of a late night care company, I’ve set up my weekends to have visits as late as 1 AM.  This company often serves n place of an overnight visit, stopping in for a brief shift, and allowing me to call them in if any additional aid is needed.

Now, being the lucky guy I am, my wonderful girlfriend will also help me to bed some nights.  While this is helpful in a pinch, and greatly appreciated, I like to plan to have workers available for most of the time, and backup workers just in case.  But for those late nights where we want to “Netflix and chill”, it’s great having Lisa around to lend a helping hand when we finally do decide to call it a night.
