Keeping Busy in a Slow and Cold Time

As the pandemic continues, and the weather turns cold, there are fewer activities Lisa and I can do.

Often, during the winter months, I’ve taken up some gaming to keep entertained, and have even encouraged Lisa to join in.  As I have enjoyed fantasy oriented Role-Playing Games (RPGs) since childhood, and Lisa also enjoys the fantasy genre, we’ve played some RPGs including Ni No Kuni II and Final Fantasy XV.

With fun stories, great sound tracks, and fun playing environments, that still allow some flexibility with my limited dexterity, it has been fun to venture out in these fantasy realms.

An irony of the times, Final Fantasy XV follows 4 friends on a trip together, as they drive through the countryside, viewing breathtaking scenery, and hitting all the local diners.  In a time where stopping in diners is not advisable for me, the game’s photo-realistic images of food, engages my cooking and dining passions.

Mind you, while this is not even remotely the main intent of the game (with a plot clearly derived from Hamlett meets Greek tragedies), it is a welcome distraction.

For a sample of the wonderful soundtrack of Final Fantasy XV:
