Our New Orleans trip is soon approaching. Roughly two months out, finalizing the plans, and we find yet another snag. An email arrived from our hotel. They are closing for renovations in May. Sigh.
Finding an accessible hotel is never easy. Especially finding rooms with roll-in showers and adequate wheelchair accommodations. Even so, finding rooms with a bed that accommodates a patient lift adds yet another challenge to the juggling act of booking an accessible vacation.
After receiving the news I spent a few afternoons calling around to find a suitable replacement. I found a nice replacement nearby. However, shortly after booking the alternate hotel, the sales manager from the first hotel called me indicating that the hotel was diverting guests to a replacement hotel.
At least now I am left with multiple options.
