This weekend, my girlfriend and I decided to take a trip to the Zoo, whilst allowing her to try a rental bike. She has not ridden a bike in years, and has been considering getting one for several months now, as my chair easily outpaces even the briskest paced walkers.
She decided to try one of the rental bikes that Madison has all over the city, as we took the bike path to the zoo (roughly a 20 minute stroll for me). While starting off was a bit rough for her, requiring several adjustments to the bike seat, she soon got cruising on the bike and zipped ahead of me with a shout of “Eat my dust!”.
Looks like my days of zipping ahead of her at 6 MPH will soon be at an end.
