I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, and got their fill of food, pie, family, and fun. I’ve made a tradition, these past three years of taking my parents, my sister (who is now 17), and her boyfriend to see the latest Hunger Games movie during the Thanksgiving weekend.
The venture out to the theater, had some nice theatrics starting off. My parent’s house, being a split level, has a 4 part ramp, as the main floor of the house is upstairs. Having just received some icy rain Thanksgiving day, and cold temperatures all day Friday, the ramp became quite slick. I slid down the second stretch of the ramp straight into one of the posts, and was stuck thrust upon the joystick. My dad came and helped me get out of that particular predicament.
The rest of the trip was relatively uneventful, though trying to park the full size cargo van in the tiny theater lot is always an interesting endeavor. This coupled with the only available spot being right by the lot entrance, we ended up blocking the sidewalk and lot entrance while getting parked.
Inside, the theater was packed, and the only available wheelchair spot left, was up at the front of the theater, right by the screen. I just hope my large chair didn’t obstruct too many viewers view of the film.
But it was a fun family outing, with two action packed hours of a thrilling conclusion to the Hunger Games.
