Parlez-Vous Francais?

In my first year of college, at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, my chair broke down in the middle of the street while crossing a road.  Unfortunately, only one motor had given out, so the chair was stuck doing endless donuts while I tried to get out of the street.  I managed to call my parents, who lived the next town over, and get help back to my dorm room.  The next day, my dad took the day off of work to help me get to my classes, until my chair could be repaired.  He pushed me around the campus in my old manual wheelchair.  After dropping me off at a class he’d find something to do for the next hour until the class was over.  However, for my french class, a 200 level class, the professor invited him to stay.  He politely declined, at first, but when the professor insisted saying he might have fun and pick up some French he decided to give it a try.  Though, being a 200 level college course in French, the vocabulary was well beyond bonjour and merci.
