The other day, while coming home from work, I arrived at my apartment, opened the door, and just as I went to close the door my cat, Minerva, made a mad dash for the door. Darting into the narrow gap between the door and the doorframe, Minerva hoped to sprint out Indiana Jones style. However, unlike the movie, she did not make it. She was pinned.
Frantically she squirmed and protested, trying to wriggle her way out. However, the sudden stop of the chair had caused me to bump the power switch, turning the chair off. It took 20 seconds of a terrified cat frantically squirming and howling before I could get the chair turned back on and booted up in order to move enough to free Minerva.
Once free, she dashed into my bedroom closet, and didn’t come out for the rest of the night, except when Lisa dragged her out so we could make sure she wasn’t hurt. In the end, it was probably her pride that was most hurt.
